I rationally understand that the passage of time is a fixed constant,
and this year has passed at the same exact speed as last year, and every single
year before that, since the beginning of time.
Having said that, the irrational side of me feels like parts of 2021 have
flown by in literal seconds, with other parts feeling as though they’ve hung
around like an unwelcome house guest, enthusiastically sprinkling chaos like glitter
everywhere they go. The good news though
is that we made it!! We made it through
another challenging year because we’re bad-asses and we’ve got this! As a result, we can now focus our attention
on 2022 who’s peeking around the corner, ready to spring into action and
provide another full year of stress, anxiety, countless WTFs and exasperated
OMGs! All aboard!!
2021 has been full of amazing challenges and opportunities, but
also marked with sadness and loss. My transition
from regular employee to business owner continues to be both rewarding and utterly
terrifying, usually at the exact same time.
The reality though, is that I’m right where I’m supposed to be, and I
couldn’t be happier!
I’ve enjoyed rekindling several working relationships that
had slowly dwindled over the years due to changes in employment positions and
business requirements. Together we’re
facing new challenges that also enable me to learn new skills and further my own
pool of knowledge. It truly is a win/win
situation from my perspective. I get to
wake up every day and look forward to working with an incredible group of
people.
2022 will no doubt be filled with many opportunities and
challenges. Not all will be positive
ones, but even the negative ones provide us with chances to learn and grow, and
that’s what is most important. When life
gives you lemons, make lemonade, or lemon meringue pie, or accidentally squirt
yourself in the eye to remind yourself that life is full of surprises.
I would like to personally extend my thanks and gratitude to
each of the clients I have the pleasure of working with. I appreciate being part of your team.
I hope 2022 brings each of you good health, oodles of happiness,
and harmony with the world around.
